High motivation in performing health service given to patients is needed in nursing world. The nurse with high motivation will be not to experience burnout in work. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of work motivation with the tendency of nurses suffering burnout in Awal Bros Batam Hospital. The research method used is correlative descriptive. The data is taken by using purposive sampling method. The data collection was performed in the period of 12-15 September 2013 and the number of respondents is 58 nurses of emergency unit, intensive care unit, Pandoria ward. The research instrument used is questionnaires consist of 40 statements and the realibilityand the validation have been tested with Cornbach Alpha for 10 nurses of Ophyris and Ursinia wards. The data analysis shows that there is a significant correlation between work motivation with the tendency of nurses suffering burnout in Awal Bros Batam Hospital (ρ<0.05). this research recommends nurses are able to increase profesionalism and skill, then hospital management may continue motivating the staff and arrange trainings as well as reviewing supporting factors of work motivation.
